Oh Katie - my DH is DYING to move overseas! But that's TOO far for me! I love visiting Europe though!
I think it would be fun for a little while. I am currently trying to get my Greek citizenship, which is a pain, so if we do have to go over seas, it will be much easier for us to work.
I think the fact that I have moved so much, and am used to being alone, makes moving overseas less intimidating.
Yeah it's not really about being alone... it's more of not speaking the language and not being able to see our families - KWIM?
I totally understand. I think the scariest part for me is the language barrier. That scares me, because it would be even more difficult to make friends. At least if it were Greece I have tons of family there that would keep me company and help teach me the language.
Hopefully I won't have to worry about this, and I will get to move back to New York!
Greece would be sooo nice though! I know some greek from an ex. His grandmother only spoke Greek, so I was able to learn a little
I understand it better than I speak it. I also know Spanish a bit, so that is why those are my two top choices internationally. The weather helps too!
The Entertainment industry is hit really hard right now, like everything else, so we have to choice but to be open to where we go. Australia, England, Ireland and Germany are also options. My one stipulation is that I HAVE to be able to take my animals with me. I am not move to some place I can't have them.

not related to PP but I'm excited had to share -- I booked our flights to California for our 1st wedding anniversary trip in Sept!!!
Where in CA?
I booked a flight into San Fran ($129 each! not bad I thought) and a flight out of San Diego (again $129 each!) we are going to rent a car and drive down the coast - I'm thinking it will be somewhat planned and somewhat winging it.
Anyone have any must see places recs?
It's funny how excited I am about a trip that is 6 months away!!

I don't blame you for being excited! We might go to the Keys for Easter break to see a friend and even the prospect makes me happy!

Well the house is in Athens. But my parents are from Agrino and Karpenisi. Have you been to Greece? I love Greece. I used to go every summer as a kid till I was 16 years old.

All I know is if she grew up there then she is probably my cousin! Everyone from that Island is related to me.
I am only half Greek, and was raised Catholic, I am assuming that St. Nicks is Greek Orthodox?

I have never been, but I am dying to go, especially since I am one of the only ones who has never been. All my cousins yell at me to go, so hopefully even if we don't move there we will go in the next year and a half. I may ask for some suggestions on where to go while I am there. Although I know my family is going to try to take up all of my time.

Re: TGIF chat!
That is so funny because my cousins complain of the opposite. They say my family keeps them hostage on the Island so they want to take a cruise so they can go to the main land. I would be completely happy sitting on the Island! I can't wait to go.
Do you have your Greek citizenship? I am in the process of trying to get mine.

Re: TGIF chat!
I went to St. D's in Astoria and my sis went to st. Nic's. I have family friend from Xios and they all say its gorgeous. I have never been to Xio's, I am dieing to go to Sparta. I do not have Greek Citizenship yet but am plainning to look into it. I was born he but lived there for 2 years and was baptised in Greece. Both parents were born in Greece so I would qualify.
