When should i hear if we qualified for EI ........

DS had his second evaluation last friday ........ i have set up the meeting for the 18th but i thought that maybe i would have heard something by now .....

if he dosent they said that the meeting will be cancelled im just sooo anxious to get this started and im tired of hearing so many other children much younger than him talking so well i just want him to be able to comunicate with us

The meeting has to be within 45 days of your initial phone call - usually agencies are very good about getting reports out in time for the meeting. What was the exact date of your last eval?

You can also call the agency - if you have a meeting coming up, it shouldn't look too pushy....

Did they give you a test score? They are not suppossed to, but they usually do. They told us we qualified immediately after the evaluation.

There will be no IFSP meeting unless you qualify, so they will need to tell you before then. If you dont hear, then your qualified.

When DS was evaluated, the woman told right there that he qualified.
Can you maybe make a follow up call?

We started just 2 days before Christmas. We had 45 days to get the whole process done. The 1st day I met the EI service coordinator, we set up the time for the meeting. We saw 4 evaluators and I asked them for feedback. Some told me that he would qualify right away for some services. The agency has to have all reports from all evaluators together and then a summary is done if you have more than 1 evaluation before it's mailed to you. Most evaluators told me that it usually takes about 1 week for them to write their report. Then a supervisor review it and then it's mailed to you. I suggest you stay on top of it and call your EI service coordinator. You are supposed to get all reports at least 5 days before the scheduled meeting. So you have time to read it and ask questions. Although my service coordinator is really doing a good job, I did call a few times. I wanted to make sure everybody was on the same page to get this meeting on schedule.

If DC does not qualify, the meeting will be cancelled.

ITA with all the posters. With my ds they did tell me right after each evaluation that he would qualify, they just couldn't tell me how many days / hours of services he would get b/c they had to wait for all the test scores. I received his results a few days before my meeting. I would call your service coordinator for an update.
