Re: Do you consider someone...
There's a big difference when you say that you are "trying" and when you're just letting chips fall where they may...
If you are conscientious of your cycle and you are timing around them - but not "tracking" with tests... then yeah, I'd say you're "trying"...
But, if you're like most of my friends who (that was DH and I for the first 3 months) just threw caution to the wind and poof wound up PG (but no such luck for us), then no... I wouldn't consider that trying...
But then again, I would think that a woman would have some sort of idea as to what's going on in her cycle and when the right time is to get to BDing if they want to have a baby... even if they are not tracking. I know this is a HUGE assumption... so I'm just gonna go make an @ss outta me 'n' -umption...(movie? anyone? anyone? )

Like some other ladies have said, so long as the couple is TRYING to get pregnant, then they are TTC'ing - whether or not they're using OPK's or temping or whatever.
However, personally I also feel that there's a difference with the "oh we've stopped using BC and IF we happen to get PG, then that's fine" and the "we've stopped using BC and are hoping to get pregnant" mentalities, if that makes sense.
