Do you consider someone...

is TTC'ing even though they are not tracking, temping or using OPKs...

For me, I say yes...they are trying, but not using other methods to track and/ or help the process along...

I just am curious of all of your thoughts and opinions on this....

i 100% thnk that if you use no methods you are still TTC..
there are lots of girls who take this approach including myself for a couple months.. nothing wrong with that!!

Yes - if they are timing intercourse around they think they ovulate.

I don't consider someone who just stops using protection to be actively trying - more of not preventing if that makes sense.

Well, I wouldn't say they are actively TTC but since there is a chance you could get pregnant, I would say they should be prepared for that.

No birth control=possible baby

see i did that my first time trying..
i still considered myself TTC..
we stopped using protection.. just BDing whenever.. cause i had NO clue when to time intercourse.. i guess i think of it as.. taking the slow route..

i guess everyone will have different opinions on this..

we started out that way and said "we aren't trying we just aren't preventing it" but -- like someone else said if you aren't using any type of BC at all...you are basically preparing for the chance of a baby. so maybe not full throttle TTC--but semi.

ok.. i totally understand what you are saying too..

i just see it as.. people like me.. when we tried the very first month.. i had NO clue about TTC.. or days when to BD, etc..
but i considered myself actively trying.. cause we wanted a baby..

so thats the point i am trying to make.. but after a few months when you learn more.. you change things up a bit!! and BD certain days etc.. still with no methods as far as OPK, temping..

am i confusing

If someone wants to consider themselves TTC so be it, who am I to say different

Yes...if the intent is to try to get pregnant then I say they are TTC even without temping, opks and such.

With my son we said we wanted to start trying...we never used OPKs or anything..I had always kept track of my period (just by date and cycle length) to help plan vacation and to not get pregnant so I always had that...but nothing else and I considered myself TTC.

We are actively TTC. I really want this more than anything, but we are not temping, or using anything other than the calendar.

If I have to get more aggressive, I will, but we are following a BD schedule right now.

I think if in your head you want to have a baby then you are TTC. It doesn't always have to be technical. I think it's all in the intentions!

Well, we had the mindset of que serra serra for about 2 months. We were not timing or doing anything more than having fun and if we got PG that would be good but I was not in the lets make a baby mindset. This was the first month of actually timing things to really try to get PG. I think the TTC board is big enough for everyone - from the laizefair method to the deena's method and OPKs to everything in between.

yeah because thats how my brother wife did it. she didnt do temps or anything n it happend

well- I think most people take that approach in the beginning and if it doesnt happen right away they start looking into OPK and temping.....

I do. I think there are lots of people out there who take a more laid back approach, stop taking preventative methods, and believe that it will happen when it happens!

I would if they want to get pregnant whenever they BD. I sometimes wish I didn't know what was going on so that we could take that approach. But even without OPKs I have a good idea of how my cycle is and when I would be ovulating.
