Re: dreft vs. tide
I really dislike Dreft. It never got any stains out at all. For this baby, I think I am going to use ALL free. I have been using it for awhile and I have extremely sensitive skin. Not sure about Tide free....sorry!

Re: dreft vs. tide
i would go with the cheaper one, which i'm sure is the tide. as long as it's scent free, it really doesn't matter... so imo dreft is a ripoff!

Re: dreft vs. tide
We use Tide Free - Dreft actually made my DS break out in a rash. Tide is a lot cheaper too.

Re: dreft vs. tide
I bought a small thing of Dreft just to have on hand to wash some stuff beforehand... but when our detergent runs out, I am going to get the free stuff so we have ONE detergent.
I do normally use Tide and I love the way it smells-- I guess I will have to give that up, but it doesn't make sense to have two different detergents.

Re: dreft vs. tide
I've been using Tide Free. My SIL gave me a huge thing of Dreft but I have yet to use it and since it's scented I don't really want to (we are a family with sensitive skin!). The only thing dreft I bought was the stain remover b/c my cousin swears by it. I have to say, it has gotten out some tough stains!

Re: dreft vs. tide
I started buying Tide Free - I miss the Tide smell, but I make up for it w/ the Downy (but I'm not allowed to use that on baby's stuff either, right?)
A lot of people say the Dreft doesn't get out any of the stains .........that's too much of a PITA for me !!

Re: dreft vs. tide
I've always just used whatever brand's "free and clear" detergent. I never really understood how Dreft could be so great for babies when it has fragrance in it.

Re: dreft vs. tide
Thanks, I was hopping you'd all agree on tide. I've always used tide for myself cause I have very sensitive skin, and the other thing is the dreft is so $$$!!!

Re: dreft vs. tide
I just thought I'd add that I like the Dreft stain remover spray but I didn't care for the Dreft deterget. I find the stain remover spray somewhat difficult to find.

Re: dreft vs. tide
Tide (free & clear); works better & is cheaper. Goes on sale alot more often & is available everywhere.
Dreft: not a fan...mostly marketing and it is not entirely colour & fragrance free.
JMO.
I have also used ALL free & clear, and Seventh Generation Free & clear. I like them all, but I am sticking with the Seventh Gen.

Re: dreft vs. tide
No difference you don't need dreft - we use tide free and clear. Honestly it is better to just use the tide free and clear for everyone - if you just wash the baby's clothes in dreft they are laying all over you and you are picking them up so they are exposed to what detergent you use. We use tide free and clear for all of us - it is easier and they don't make dreft for HE washers anyway.

Re: dreft vs. tide
We used dreft for the first 3 months with DD because we had it. We use Tide free since then and will use it with this baby from the beginning

Re: dreft vs. tide
I would use just a Free & Clear detergent. The Dreft is a waste of money. If you want a baby specific detergent, All Baby is basically a cheaper version of Dreft.

Re: dreft vs. tide
The nurse who ran our childbirth class told us that Dreft is full of chemicals that the other free and clear detergents do not contain. So we'll be using whatever free and clear detergent (All, Tide, etc) is on sale.
