Question about "walking shoes"

DS is finally almost walking (he's 15 mos). At home he is mostly in socks or pedipeds. He goes to daycare 2x a week and always wears his pedipeds. Now that he is taking steps on his own his teacher mentioned that she saw him slip several times with his pedipeds since the area is not totally carpeted. Went to Stride Rite today and got him Stage 3 shoes. Should I have gotten the classic white ones instead? Is there a big difference between the two? TIA

Re: Question about "walking shoes"

I went to stride rite for DD & her first shoes were not the classic "bootie" ones. I got her these: She walks fine (she's now 20 months) with them & she has had others in between (cheapies, too!).

Re: Question about "walking shoes"

When I went (dd did get the classic ones) they said that once they are walking they go into the different levels so I am sure that is perfectly fine.

Re: Question about "walking shoes"

I did buy DD the classic white shoes when she first started walking, but it was mid-June and HOT out, so I got her very supportive summer sandals (they looked a little orthopedic actually Chat Icon but I wanted GOOD shoes! Chat Icon ), and those were perfect and kept her feet much cooler...she only wore the classic white shoes once.

So I'm sure they'll be perfect for him!
