We are just going out to a nice dinner. We received a few GC's for a resturant by our house and that is where we are going. Last year DH took me to a romantic dinner and I got so sick. He made all these plans and during the day I felt a massive cold coming. By the time dinner was over my face was nearly in my plate!

Probably dinner and a movie. We have gift certificates for both! 
I refuse to go crazy on Valentines day. I think it is nice to celebrate our love for each other, but our birthdays are a month later, so if we go crazy on Valentines day, it takes away from our birthday budget.

That night we'll probably go to a Friday's or Applebees with DD (DH likes to take his 2 girls out!) Either the weekend before or after we're going to to do an adult's night out with another couple.

dh usually cooks for us and i make the dessert then we watch a movie, its more intimate this way since the restaurants get so crazy and $$$$

We actually might be going to my parent's house to celebrate my brothers b-day now...it'll be the 1st time that he'll be in the U.S. for his b-day in over 5 years!! I'm thinking that maybe we'll take him bowling afterwards...he enjoys it & it'll be a blast if the whole family can go. How romantic, right?

DH and I never do much on V-day--cause our dating anniversary is 02/15 -- we met the day after. he always cracks me up cause he brings me V-day chocolates on Feb. 15 since they are discounted.
Right now 2 other couples that we know figured we might all get together at one couple's place and have dinner together (they all have kids and we don't) and just chill.

btw last time valentine's was on a saturday dh took me to the northfork and we visited some wineries and then we had dinner out there, it was very nice since it was a day trip...it was the best valentine day!

the place where we got married has a dinner and dancing thing - we might go there. They have it every year. I think it's nice to have V-Day dinner in the hall we got married in, lol. So far those are our plans..

NO! Go to Uncle Jack's in Bayside! It's AMAZING I have to go there everytime I'm in NY - plus, we went there the night we got engaged!
As for us, we are going to this yummy steak place - Flemmings - in La Jolla. It's the closest we get to a NY-style steakhouse so I'm happy! I asked DH when we were talking about it yesterday and he already had that idea! WOOHOO... that's a first for him!
ETA: We never go on actual Valentine's day either! We always go the day before.

ITA Uncle Jack's in Bayside is the BEST! Lucky you living in SD!!! I love SD. I lived in Encinitas for about a year.

my friends uncle has a house in PA that we can use for the weekend since its a 3 day weekend and there will be 8 of us so it will be fun ... im not into going out to dinner on v-day they are usually to crowded

We tried to do an annual dinner at the Carlyl on the Green unfortunatlely it hasn't really been able to happen.
We went when we were dating.
The first married year we went.
The second was a snowstorm and I was pregnant so we didn't want to drive.
Last year my mom had a heartattack on Valentine's Day - so we obviously didn't go.
I am DETERMINED to make it this year.

That's exactly what we do. Make a nice dinner, watch a DVD and stay at home. I don't like dealing with crowds, waiting at restaurants, paying extra for food that they inflate the price of just because it's Valentine's Day.

I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day. (I always felt that Hallmark, jewlers, and the resturant industry invented this holiday to boost business after Christmas). We'll have a nice dinner and spend some time together and maybe snuggle in front of a movie.
