When you put pictures in frames or albums,
do you write anything on the back, such as who, when, where?
I was just putting pictures in my album and I realized that I don't indicate anything and I just assume that 40 years from now, I'll remember.

No. But my grandfather did, it is a great idea.
I do have a funny story tho, when my grandma died, we took all of the photos. And I guess one time when my grandpa was sick, she took over writing that job. So I have a photo, in a frame of me and my 2 cousins with my grandpa and the back says "Joey and his girls--right before his heart attack" Now, one would think that he keeled over in the pool, but no, that was just my looney grandma

I would write something on the back. After my Mom died, we found a photo album in her room and can't identify almost anybody in it. She was the "Family Historian" so nobody else really knows either. Now I don't know what to do with this photo album. I hate to throw it out, but I don't know who anybody is.

it's a great idea to do it. i haven't but I should. I want my kids and grandkids to be able to know who I photographed.

I didn't when I was younger because I thought I would never forget. Guess what? I forgot who some of the names of people.  
I make sure I write down things like that now.

Yes, every picture! I saw what my Mom did and it drove me nuts when she didn't label stuff and when it came to organizing all of them, we had to go by my memory.

I always put a date on the back of the photo and try to identify who it is if it's someone I don't see often.

My mom did when we were younger. I started writing dates on the backs of pictures for DS and writing names of non family members.
