Back from NYC/Rheumy
They failed me on the Humira injectible today.
I am now going to be starting Remicade infusions. I am that they work because I can't take the pain, swelling and extreme fatigue. Because my veins are so tiny, I have to go to an infusion center.
The good side is that it is safe for pregnancy and it is every other week and then it gets spaced out. If I do well, I can push it to every 6 weeks. But the infusion takes 2 1/2 hours ...all I am saying is they better have wireless internet there so I can chat during the infusion. They are scheduling the first one this week.
The bad news-I am stuck on prednisone until I get pregnant. And they already noted the "chipmunk cheeks". I hate this drug, but it is baby safe.
Tomorrow, I am taking my mommy for a D&C (I forgot her condition, but there are blockages or something of that nature), which means I will get to see my OB tomorrow (aka, my new BFF ) to give him the update and ask my million questions.
I am really hoping this is my month just so I go into remission and can stop the fargin prednisone
What really killed me was DH's face-he looked like he was going to cry when they gave us the news about the RA-he said he never realized how serious it was until then.
So, I will be going off to bed momentarily. My hip is sore from an injection and I got stabbed twice there.
But I did do the ring trick on the receptionist who is 9 mos preggo-it was dead on!
