What did you put as your registry message? Did you leave it blank?
Someone had posted a shower invitation that included some wording about asking guests to bring a book in place of a card. I really loved this idea but my shower invitations were already done.
Do you think the registry message area is a bad place to request a children's book in place of a card?

I have never heard of it before, but I don't think it is rude. Go for it! Mine just says something like- We are going to be surprised! Please get a gift receipt in the event of duplicates. (BRU)

That is basically what ours says. It's a surprise and please include gift receipts.

I put the "please include gift reciepts in case of duplicates due to strict return policy" (BRU)
I want to do the book instead of card thing too but my sister is putting that on the shower invite instead

What is BRU's return policy? Is it really that bad?
I really love the book idea. I feel like it is too late and I don't think I want to put on my baby registry.
