for some items i say yes its a bit too early.. b/c things get discontinued. I had put bedding on my registry and just a few weeks later it was no longer being sold at BRUs anymore.

Re: Do you think its too early to start registering?

Most people start registering after they find out the sex of the baby (around 20 weeks). That is when I started.

I found registering to be completely overwhelming. I had to go back 5x to pick out a stroller, 3x for a swing, 2x for a convertible car seat...you get the picture.

I think it is totally fine to start early and pick out some of the gender neutral items.

Re: Do you think its too early to start registering?

We didn't find out the sex, but I waited until 20 weeks because I wanted to wait until the level II and see that the baby was healthy. I also wanted to do some research before registering.

I don't think it's too early, though. I changed my registry and added stuff so many times, it wouldn't have mattered if I started earlier. Also, a few people bought me gifts fairly early on.

I waited until 20 weeks to start. Things really do get discontinued quickly so it might be better to start putting your own list together of what you like vs. dislike. But if you are that excited and can't wait - go for it

it's a tough call.

it is a good idea to start now - because it takes a VERY long time... you know i started about a month ago (because i'm so anal about research) and i'm STILL torn on some major items....

it can't hurt to start accounts and just 'placemark' things....to research later...

Whatever you feel comfortable with.

I didn't start registering until I passed my 24th week.

Re: Do you think its too early to start registering?

I am only 5 weeks and a few times i've gone on the BRU website to start and then chickened out. I m/c at 8 weeks last year so I am just not comfortable doing it yet.

DH and I are not planning on finding out the sex, but I think I will wait until 20 weeks anyway.Chat Icon
