I put a bunch of toys on there. We figured sometimes people want to get little things too.

Re: toys on the registry

I just realized I went a little nuts with all those cute Lamaze animal toys. Chat Icon I have to tone that down. I got some teethers on there too. I figure people will just automatically buy rattles and all that other stuff.

I also registered for all of that, it's a wish list so register for whatever you want! If you don't get it all, you'll get the 10% completion coupon to buy them yourself. Have fun!!!

Re: toys on the registry

i didn't put any toys on the registry and am glad about it.

keep in mind that toys are what most people give you when you have the baby---you won't get the necessary items at that time. if you wind up getting a lot of toys at your shower, you're might be stuck buying the big things yourself. plus many people will buy what toy THEY like, not what you ask for. same goes with clothes.

the baby doesn't need toys for months and you'll see from his/her personality what he/she likes. there are so many toys that DS won't even look at. i now know what to buy him and what to have other people buy him.

just something to think about!Chat Icon

ps....during the first month of DS's life, he received as gifts enough clothes and toys to last him at least 9 months. i haven't had to buy much at all and he's 6 months!

Re: toys on the registry

i think toys are good in moderation....

Id be worried about not getting enought of my necessities if i put too many toys so im tending to lean towards being selective on them chosing the $10 lamaze toys, or $15 sassy rattle sets

when I buy a baby gift I tend to pick out a toy I like to go along with it anyways

I would hold or limit the number of toys you register for and put more of the necessities on there. I didn't put any toys (except for an activity mat) on my registry and DD never hurt for any.

When DD was born I got a TON of lamaze toys, stuff animals and clothes. Most people love to bring little toys when they come to visit the baby so you will probably get a bunch at that time.
