Moms of major Thumb Suckers- please come in!
DD LOVES her thumb- and sucks it constantly. However, this morning, I noticed that her little bitty thumb is sooooo dry and cracked!
Is there anything I can do about it?

I probably wouldn't put anything on it since she will ingest whatever you use. I just saw this thing in their catalog today

I posted the same thing a few weeks ago!
I asked his pediatrician and they said I could put a little vaseline or A&D on it if it got REALLY bad. When it looks bad, I will put a light layer of A&D on it, but I will do this at a time when he is active and not tired (which is when he sucks it) to reduce the amount ingested.

My DS is also a continuous thumb sucker. I use Aquaphor and put a sock over it during a bottle. Its 20 minutes he doesnt need his thumb. Well, he does sometimes suck his thumb during a bottle, but thats another issue.

My DD has the same thing, PLUS her face where her hands rests below her bottom lip is all cracked and dry. Our pedi said to slather on the Aquafor - and that it was ok if she got it in her mouth. It really helps heal her dry cracked skin, and it hasn't been a seterrant to her sucking her thumb
