is Cablevision getting rid of the VOOM HD network?
DH has a co-worker who's son just got laid off from Cablevision. his job function was entirely involved with the VOOM network - he told DH they're getting rid of it.

yes, voom will be gone soon. While some of the channels were "OK" it will open up space for new HD Channels which cablevision needs.

I really enjoy some of those channels, espcially Ultra HD.  I am really mad!
they raise rates and take away channels I like - nice

YEah Voom which is owned by Direct tv I think could not come to a new contract agreement.

Voom is owned by Cablevision. They are pulling the plug tonight at midnight, rather than in January. My husband used to work there and still has friends over there. Well, I guess not anymore now

Now that's 15 less HD channels but I hear more are coming to replace the 15 they lost....

I was let go from VOOM three years ago when they first let it go.
I now work in another dept and we got noticed today that they are officially letting it go.

I got let go three years ago. Then I got another position and have been working here since then.
I was actually never unemployed b/c we all knew something was up, so started looking for another position. I ended up getting offered my position a few days before the first set of lay offs. So I really never got "let go" but I would have.
