I wouldn't take any meds without talking to my OB first.

I agree Tara! My OB wouldn't give it to me at first....it wasn't until I was puking non-stop and lost a descent amount of weight that they put me on it!
If you're just nauseous and not puking, then they will most likely not want you on it! Talk to them 1st before taking it- you never know they might say go for it, but I'd wanna hear it from them!
Feel better

Re: Need some advice regarding Zofran
I am going to be totally honest here. I took zofran through my entire pregnancy. I had to. But my doctor did not prescribe it until I had ketones in my urine. Even with the zofran, I lost 13 lbs in the first trimester and only gained a total of 3lbs my entire pregnancy.
I honestly believe that doctors are prescribing zofran WAY too much. Yes, it is safe during pregnancy, but for extreme cases like myself. Unless you are dehydrated and/or losing weight, you shouldn't take it.

Re: Need some advice regarding Zofran
talk to your OB but I had to be put on 8 mg zofran for severe MS. I would cut the pills in half and only take it once a day and it worked wonderfully for me.
ETA Do not take it if you are not throwing up. I was so sick , vomitting 24-7 I lost a lot of weight, and I was under weight to begin with, they finally gave it to me bc the loss was becoming a danger

I agree...unfortunately nausea is a normal sympton during pregnancy. Violently vomiting, losing a tremendous amount of weight, extremely low blod pressure, dehydrated...NOT normal. My OB prescribed Zofran and it did NOTHING for me. They had to put me on an IV throughout the pregnancy and that is how I took Zofran.
Hopefully you will start to feel better soon
