When to call dr

When you start having contractions, when did your dr say to call them?

Re: When to call dr

My doc told me to call him when they reached a certain amount of minutes apart. But I ended up waking up in labor and didnt realize it was actually labor until they were about 7 mins apart and then jumped to 3 mins apart pretty quickly.

I heard to follow the 4 -1 - 1 rule. Call when your contractions are 4 minutes apart, last for one minute and have had them for one hour.

It is constant for an hour, or just over a 1 hr period???

Consistantly for that hour. So basically, when you've been having full minute long contractions every 4 minutes for a full hour, it's time to call.

The nurse at my childbirth class last week, said to call when they are 5 minutes apart and 1 minute in duration.
