Is anyone else anemic?
Just got my Glucose test results yesterday and though I passed !! My sugar is instead on the low side (no biggie) and I am slightly anemic.
Other than taking my vitamins, does it mean anything?

Re: Is anyone else anemic?
I was slightly anemic - I had to take an iron supplement. But I tried to eat more red meat and beans rather then that yucky pill.

Eat fresh spinach, beans, and red meat (if you eat meat) to help.

Re: Is anyone else anemic?
I'm seeing around here it's pretty common. My Dr. put me on iron pills after my glucose test results came back. Although I have to admit, I'm horrible about remembering to take them.

So funny because I thought I ate plenty of all those things! Especially the red meat part - I thought I ate too much!
Well DH will be happy about that. Thx!

Re: Is anyone else anemic?
I tested slightly anemic in my 1st and again just a couple of weeks ago for my 3rd trimester bloodwork. Dr. said it's not enough to put me on iron supplements so there's really nothing I can do except try to eat more iron-enriched foods.

My test results came back the same- low sugar but low iron too. Just take your pills and you will be fine- I had this my last pregnancy too. I eat very well also- lots of spinach and red meat when pregnant so I don't think a change in diet would make a difference.
My Doc also said I didn't have to take it every day, just every other so I don't have gastro issues.

Re: Is anyone else anemic?
Same thing happend to me...Passed my Glucose but the doctor called me all frantic that I am severely anemic. I have to take 3 Slow fe Iron pills a day with orange juice in addition to my prenatal and I was told to eat apricots, leafy greens, and lean red meat.

Re: Is anyone else anemic?
My MD told me that a slight anemia is quite normal for many pregnant women. Of course, he'd rather me not be anemic, but slight anemia was nothing to really worry about. I ended up taking Slow FE, and it did the job.
