Can you describe 'fluttering'?

I MUST be too early - almost 12 weeks...but I was feeling some funny business last night Chat Icon . I also felt a strange twinge in a VERY specific spot. It was not painful, but it was noticeable. It was in my very lower right abdomen, in a very small spot, almost like a circle. Very very strange.

So...describe this fluttering you start to feel....

TIA!Chat Icon

Kind of like you have little bubbles breaking in your belly- Does that make sense? Chat Icon

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

I think it probably was around 12 weeks or so. My placenta is in the front so I didn't start to feel actually kicks though until week 22. A lot of girls feel them much earlier than that.

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

It felt like a butterfly was flapping its wings in my belly. I felt it for the first time around 14 weeks I think. Then I didn't feel flutters again until maybe 20 weeks.

Now at 24 weeks, I can feel the baby kicking and dancing around my belly all day. Chat Icon

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

It's a hard thing to describe. I started feeling them around week 15. Little bubbles or pops is a good way of describing it. Some just fluttering, airy kind of movements too. Someone described it well at the time and said it felt like gas, and then if you didn't pass gas you knew it was the baby. Chat Icon But that kinda helped me too. In the beginning you tend to not be sure, then as the movements get bigger you realize you were right and those other movements had been the baby.

For me it felt almost like a twitching (kind of like when you get a twitch in your eyebrow, if you've ever had that happen Chat Icon )

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

I always relate them to the feeling you get on a roller coaster ride or when you're nervous and get butterflies in your stomach. I started feeling them around 13 weeks with my first.

Hey T......for me I felt it around 17 weeks. It felt like you have butterflies in your tummy, like when you're nervous before a job interview. Like others said it also feels like popcorn popping. At first you might not realize what you're feeling but once you identify it there is no mistaking it. About a week after I felt the flutters it changed from flutters to actual pushing and poking. Enjoy the feeling.....it's the best!!! Chat Icon

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

I started to feel it randomly at about 16 weeks -
I described it as the vibration you get off of the wand when you blow bubbles .........

Re: Can you describe 'fluttering'?

iactually started feeling flutters at week 11...i am having a multiple pregnancy so not sure if that has anything to do with it....my Dr. said i was feeing the babies moving into each other at that point...at about week 15-16 the "popping" started and now at wk 24 i feel full on movements daily....Rob was finally able..on THANKSGIVING of all days to feel them moving from outside my belly....so amazing!.....somene said it to me and i'll pass it along..when you feel them acutally moving you will just know....its an instinct....and AMAZING!
