I have Oxford. There was no co-pay for any of the prenatal visits and as far as the delivery goes, it was $100 co-pay for the hospital. That was it.

As DH says, "What a bargain, $100 and you get to leave with a baby!" Chat Icon

be careful hon - every company offers different TYPES (of the same company) of insurance...

I have United, I believe so does Deanna - but our plans are different - my co-pays are higher, etc...

YES!!!! It doesn't matter what insurance company you have so much as the PLAN under that insurance company. The best way to find out what is covered is to speak to your DH's company's HR rep or to call Oxford directly with your member number once you have it. They will give you ALL the details.

I have oxford freedom - it depends on your company's plan - I only pay a copay for my 1st prenatal visit then NOTHING else my entire pregnancy - NO copay or hospital charge at all.

the nurse is like, okay then - have a nice day and dave and i go, um....we have to pay you and she says no, you only pay for the first visit and then your insurance company covers it all...and if they don't - we bill you.

INSANE!!!!!!!!!! (again - i have United)..

Re: anyone have Oxford Health insurance?

I have Oxford Freedom right now-I didn't research the prenatal or maternity benefits yet since I am leaving my job when we move to Boca Raton in a month or two and we are going to pick up benefits elsewhere. I think if you go to their webpage, they explain everything. Sorry I can't be a bigger help.

I have OXford Freedom and I love it.
Only $20 copayment for the first OB visit and $100 for the hospital when I delivered.

Funny...now we are switching to BCBS. I hope we like it also! It looks pretty similar.

Re: anyone have Oxford Health insurance?

It definitely has to do with the amount of coverage the company chooses. We have BCBS through the company Dh works for (a large multinational company) and we do not even pay a co-pay for Drs visits. Every once in a while we will get a bill for $2.97Chat Icon or something small like that. Meanwhile I know other people who also have a BCBS PPO/EPO and pay a lot more in co-pays, deductibles etc.
The coverage is dependent on what the company is willing to pay.

Re: anyone have Oxford Health insurance?

When I had Oxford they wouldn't pay for my birth control. I wasn't even on it for contraception but they said we don't pay for contraception. It doesn't matter that you are only using it to regulate.

Same with me. I had a high risk pregnancy with twins and paid nothing but that first co-pay. And I think I had to pay $35 for the first sonogram at my high risk office. Nothing for the hospital or anything.
