Re: morning sickness

I feel your pain. My morning sickness began two sundays ago and got really bad the night before thanksgiving. This whole hoiday weekend was the worst I have ever felt. I threw up 6 times in 4 days. I probably gag over the toilet about 10 more times a day. I am nauseated 24/7. I'm 7 weeks today and the thought of how much longer this feeling can go on terrifies me. I'm useless at home, DH is being very understanding but is as frustrated as I am with how I am feeling. Heres to hoping we feel better soon Chat Icon Chat Icon

eta- I would suggest what I have been doing to try and help it, but NOTHING I have done has worked. I've lived on ginger ale and chicken soup for the past few days and somehow manage to throw that up

Ugh I know! I have m/s and its depressing. Mine started at about 5 weeks and im 9 weeks 4 days right now. Its only getting worse. I gag every morning as soon as I get out of bed. If there is anything in my stomach it comes out.
im over the toilet at least 7 times a DAY. Sometimes I vomit up actual food, but then sometimes I just feel like im going to puke upmy stomach lol...its so bad.

I start with a carb in the morning and I slowly sip water. Liquids tend to make me sick. Then I work myway up to applesauce, an orange..something fruity and healthy. Usually by 5 pm or later I can handle a light dinner, but I constantly feel nausious and if im not nausious im super gassy! I lost 6 pounds.

Just like you...I cannot wait for this to be over. Hang in there though...4 weeks did go by pretty quickly for me.

Things to try

Icepops
gingerale, something fizzy
carbs
slowly drink liquid, dont drink while you eat
broth soups
fruit

Re: morning sickness

Not eating in the morning WILL make it worse...so no matter how miserable you feel, you have to try to eat something in the morning.

I dealt with the m/s for 2 weeks, but as a teacher, I didn't have the option of running to the bathroom whenever I was going to be sick. It got to the point where I was throwing up in a garbage can in the hallway, with all of my kids knowing what was going on.

I went on Zofran and it was a lifesaver!!!!!

Oh yes!! Good point..you have to eat, or it will make it worse!

I know how you feel with the garbage can! I dont work but I have early morning college classes and I had to keep that garbage can super handy out in the hallway for a 3.5 hour class blah

force yourself to eat whatever you can tolerate. not eating and drinking makes the nausea worse, making you want to eat/drink less, and so the vicious cycle continues...

nothing worked for my morning sickness last time around. this time it seems milder, but i am still very scared of the possibility of it getting so bad again... but i guess i will have to deal Chat Icon

I have been suffereing with this also since Week #6 and I am only in my 8th week now and it seems like forever!!!Chat Icon

Last week it really got bad, let up a little over the weekend and came back in full force today. I am miserable..constantly nauseous, and hungry at same time...its exhausting.
I know everyone says Saltines, but they made it worse for me for some reason (I am probably out of the norm on this). Ritz Crackers (the low salt ones) have been my lifesaver!
