Dr. Brown's bottle users
I am in the middle of trying to figure out what bottles to use. I heard Dr. Brown's is very hard to clean. If you put them in the dishwasher do you still have to use the small brush to clean out the excess?

I wouldn't say they are difficult to clean, but they are a bit of a pain in the arse. I did still use the little brushes to clean the "filter" and nipples.

Agreed. They are more annoying than anything really. You really do have to clean the tube part with the brush. Advent has some great bottles too. There are also the drop in's which my friend used and she loved them.

arent' avent more geared to moms who breastfeed though? i am only bottle feeding.

I dont use the brush, I rinse them out immediately, put in dishwasher and clean. I inspect too. n ever had a problem this way.

I use the Dr. Brown's dishwasher baskets and I have never had to use the little brush. I love Dr. Brown's bottles and I have never had a problem cleaning them. Also, I breastfed for 6 months and my son wouldn't take avent or born free (which are very similar in design to Avent).

I do this too. Even though I have never had a problem, I don't think they would be my first choice again. I would try to use another brand that was BPA free and didn't have as many parts before I went back to Dr. Brown's. I've never used anything else but I would imagine having less parts to put together would be easier.

I use the Dr. Brown's and love them. I don't get what the big deal is about cleaning them? I just let the parts soak in hot soapy water and rinse them out, really not any harder or more time consuming then washing regular bottles. I've never used the little brush either. I changed to them from the drop-ins.

I don't find them annoying or difficult to clean at all. It is just a task that has to be done. I don't mind the effort required to clean the extra parts.

ehhhh I think it's annoying to clean and I lost the little cleaner so I have to buy a new one. I actually went back to drop ins and have been using those now. not sure If I will go back to doc brown

I don't find them hard to clean at all, I usually put the bottle in the dishwasher and wash the small pieces by hand b/c you can only fit 3 each of the parts in the basket, so its kinda a waste for me.
For me the benefits of the bottles outweight the washing of all the pieces.

I have two little baskets for the top rack of the dishwasher - most parts just so in there. The tubes I put where the silverware goes.
I don't find it to be any trouble at all.

I avoided the dr browns because of the cleaning issues. I've used born free glass from day 1 w/o a problem. DS can switch from boob to bottle within seconds w/o 'confusion'.
all the parts go into the diswasher... no hand scrubbing of anything
