Re: Have a ? about sleeping?

My doctor told me to sleep on my left side-- once you get a belly, the weight of the baby presses on your spine when you are on your back, and it really hurts! Also, when I lay on my right side, for some reason, I wake up with a migraine that won't go away.

Re: Have a ? about sleeping?

it's recommended for circulation purposes that you sleep on your left side.
At 15 weeks though you should still be fine sleeping on your back. It becomes a problem when the weight of your uterus can compress an artery when you're on your back, but that comes much later in your pregnancy.

Re: Have a ? about sleeping?

Your body will let you know when you need to switch how you sleep. I'm a left sided sleeper by nature, but for some reason throughout my pregnancy I was finding it more comfortable to sleep on my right. However, now that I'm just about 30 weeks and much bigger, the only reason I'm having difficulting sleeping on my right is when I have to roll over to get out of bed to pee. It's getting more and more difficult to do that.

This is crazy, but I am 11 weeks and still sleeping on my stomach. Is this ok? I don't have a huge (if any) bump, and it's not uncomfortable....

Re: Have a ? about sleeping?

All the way to the end of my pregnancy I slept on both sides and I would find myself sleeping on my back. It wasn't until the very end that I had to sleep sitting up because it wasn't comfortable in any other position. Your body will let you know which way to sleep, my doctor never told me I couldn't sleep in a certain position, but I would try my best to sleep on my left side.

I find myself sleeping on my stomach all the time. It is not intended, but I wake up and I am on my tummy.

Re: Have a ? about sleeping?

I try to sleep mainly on my Left side, but I need to switch to my right many times during the night. I also wake up and find myslef on my back many times during the night.
It is weird, but as you get later into your PG, your body almost tells you not to lay on your back. I can only stay on my back for a little while and then it starts to hurt.
