Is this normal?
For the past 3-4 days I've had a RAVENOUS appetite!
I am only 7 weeks, and was over weight before I got pregnant, but I don't want to use pregnancy as a crutch to eat whatever
BUT I feel so hungry! Last week I didn't feel like this and sometimes I felt sick, but the past few days I feel like I'm eating everything in sight...including fast food

Re: Is this normal?
If you're really hungry, eat until you're satisfied. My Dr. told me in the beginning that the baby will take what it needs, and that you need to listen to your body. It's funny, my appetite actually DECREASED during the pregnancy--I am an overeater, so I think it was my body's way of telling me to slow down!
So I say eat if you're hungry!

Re: Is this normal?
i was overweight before pregnancy as well.
I had a RAVENOUS appetite for about 4 weeks maybe....now i'm on the 'i'm not as hungry' kick... There are times when i can eat almost anything - but most of the time, i'm not too hungry....
It'll come and go. Your body needs what it needs right now...try to make some healthier choices - but eat as your body needs food..

Re: Is this normal?
I, too, started out ravenous and now at almost 32 weeks, sometimes I have no appetite at all.
If your body wants you to eat, then eat! Make sure you have some healthy choices in there and drink your water.
Bon appetit! I used to eat like a champ and now I can't... boy do I miss those days

Re: Is this normal?
I have this in small spurts. Sometimes I feel like I am starving and other times I'm not very hungry at all. Like AP said listen to your body. If your hungry eat, just make smart choices about what you eat.

Re: Is this normal?
Weeks 5-7 I was starving. I would eat a huge meal and 1 hour later it was as if I ate nothing. It will subside but for right now you need to eat. Your body is getting ready to feed 2 so it is making a shift.

Re: Is this normal?
I'm around 9 weeks right now and finally can eat every so often. I am so hungry that my stomach actually hurts all the time. I have no idea what to eat....nothing satisfies me.

Re: Is this normal?
I am the exact same way...8 weeks and STARVING all the time. I am also overweight and don't want to gain too much weight for this pregnancy. I am just really trying to make smart choices and hoping the hunger will subside in the next few weeks....

Re: Is this normal?
My appetite has its ups and downs - sometimes I am starving and sometimes I can't eat more than a bowl of cereal for dinner.
Keep in mind that the sensation of hunger is sometimes your body telling you to drink more! So try having a big glass of water before eating.
