I am SO congested!!
I am so uncomfortable, I don't know what to do. My face hurts and I cannot breathe through my nose-- and my mouth is getting SO dry because I am sitting here with my mouth hanging open-- I can't take it!!!  
I barely slept last night, and I am trying to nap a little now, and this breathing/dry mouth issue is really getting to me!
What can I do-- besides sit in a steam room.

my ob said i could take benadryl, zyrtec or REGULAR Claritin (not D).
i also take LONG, LONG, LONG showers - as that's the only time i can breathe. maybe if you don't want to take a shower - boil some water on the stove and breathe it in????

Have you tried irrigating with saline? And breathe right strips work well.

I am definitely not sick, it's more about all the extra stuff pregnancy is making me produce so I am a little weary of taking a medicine.
I am going to try the shower, and hope that does the trick-- I was holding off since I am still lying around hoping to catch up on some sleep I missed... I guess I should try to operate being sleep deprived-- boy, am I going to be CRANKY all day!

Get a cool mist humidifier - it helped me tons!! Bonus, you can use it in the baby's room too.
Saline and shower soothers helped also.

that's exactly what i have too - i have been congested for 3 months now. I wake up in the mornings unable to breathe - hence not being able to fall back to sleep no mater how tired i am.
benadryl helps (i take the dye free one)...it'll also help you stay asleep (for a few horus)...
claritin worked for the first few days of this week and isn't doing much for me right now...
i'm going to call my doc and ask a few questions today....especially about the humidifier - my mom suggested that to me yesterday...

I totally empathize with everyone. I've been congested and stuffy since July!
Don't laugh..but Vicks Vapo Rub has worked wonders for me. I put it on at night (my forehead, nose, chest) and it gives me just enough relief to fall asleep. If you're home, reapply during the day.
HOT HOT showers work too..but only for so long.
It'll be over soon!!!!!!!!!

ITA. You can also rub it on the bottom of your feet. It just kind of gets into you and really helps. I do it with my DD whenever she is having breathing trouble.

ok-- well, the shower didn't help... I am going to get dressed, run a few errands and once I am home for the day, will pop a benadryl. Once I am up and moving, I will probably feel better anyway.

I have been congested the whole pregnancy and I use a humidifier and irrigate 2Xday with saline. It defniitely helps. If you think you may have a sinus infection, head to the doctor.

i totally agree with the sinus irrigation - you'll feel so much better. get a saline spray to hold you over in between too.

Use nasal spray. My OB said it was fine and I used it a bunch while I was pregnant. Feel better!!

that was me the past few days - the dry lips and all of that, and completely stuffed. Now it's just constant runny nose- it's like I can't stop blowing the damn thing! A kid told me I looked like Rudolph today!
The nasal spray helped me the first couple days...
