Do you avoid asparteme?

During your pregnancy, do you avoid asparteme and other sweeteners? I just realized asparteme is in my light yogurt and so many other things I eat.

i stopped using sweet n low which i LOVE but my dr. told me that the dannon light and fit yogurt was fine

I stopped using all fake sugars. I eat Dannon natural or stonyfield farms yogurt now.

i have been - yes....i don't know why - but something i remember reading said it wasn't good....

it's in a lot of yogurts (but for some reason, my taste buds HATE yogurt right now) and gums...

I avoid ALL artificial sweeteners, sweet and low, equal and splenda as reccomended by my midwife dut to nuerous studies outlining the egative effects of them on a developing fetus.

I love Fage (greek) yogurt with honey in it or Agave syrup!!

i don't go out of my way to avoid it (e.g. i'll still drink a diet coke now and then), but i didn't really have too much artificial sweetener to begin with.

I've been trying really hard to avoid it... but i still have a caffeine free Diet Coke or a lite yogurt every once in awhile. I wasn't sure if it was good or bad, but i figured since it's fake, it's probably not the best thing to eat.

I do my best to avoid it but it's in lots of stuff!!

Yes I do not eat anything with artificial sweeteners.

Wow, I must be the only one who does not. I use to use equal all the time but switched to splenda because its suppose to be better and is ok'd by the AMA. I did cut down on how much I use, but still use it in my coffee and cereal that I have everyday.

i avoided them before being pregnant and definitely now.

I do. So far I don't think I've had any but at my appointment next week I am going to ask my doc her feelings about an occasional diet coke. I'm really surprised I am missing it more than coffee even.

I don't eat anything with it-- and am surprised at how many things contain it.

I do have a diet soda from time to time-- but, I am talking like one or two a month if that.

I do have splenda (sucralose) a little more-- but, I still limit that as well.

ive been avoiding diet drinks...... however yogurt is another story

Yes, as much as I can. I only like light yogurt that of course all contain asparteme. I stopped eating them while being PG. I do still eat yogurt, but one that contains regular sugar.

I haven't had a diet soda since becoming PG.

I generally try to avoid artificial sweetners, even when not pregnant.

I didn't use artificial sweeteners in either of my pregnancies. I am pretty laid back but to me those are just chemicals and I didn't feel comfortable putting them into my body while pregnant.

I'm avoiding it. I had one piece of sugarless gum and spit it out after I realized it definately had it lol. I do really miss diet cokes though.

I have used aspartame and splenda forever, so I am trying to be more cautious when it comes to using them. I am going to be trying really hard to avoid them, but I don't think I will be giving them up completely . . .

i avoid it, but i am allergic to it. i did use splenda while pregnant, but was also on a GD diet. you have to get some sweetness someplace with that set of restrictions.
