Re: a bit disappointed!

I'm sorry Chat Icon how far along are you? If you're less than 8 weeks alot of OBs won't do a sono.

Re: a bit disappointed!

Chat Icon How far along will you be? Most doctors won't schedule sonos until you're at least 8 weeks. I had no idea what to expect at my first appointment. I basically had an annual exam. I had a sono at the following appointment. I know you're disappointed, but some people don't get sonos until 20 weeks.

Re: a bit disappointed!

Sorry you were disappointed. The very 1st appt is really for bloodwork, confirmation of pregnancy.

The 2nd appt at 8 weeks is the sono. They won't do it before 8 weeks because they look for the heartbeat and they don't see it before in most cases.

sorry you are disappointedChat Icon I am 5 weeks tomorrow and when I called my Ob Gyn last week they said they dont want to see me until between 7 and 8 weeks so my appointment is not until Dec 9th!! and I only have a few pregnancy tests to prove I am preggers.

Sorry you are disappointed but at least you didn't have to go through the stress of them looking and not seeing something only because it would have been to early Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: a bit disappointed!

Yes, my doctor wont see you until you're 8 weeks. The upside for me was that I knew by that point I would definitely see something, no chance on it being too early.

Re: a bit disappointed!

same here, no sono until 8 weeks, and that's my first appointment. there's no initial 'confirmation of pregnancy' appointment with bloodwork in my OB practice.
