Pottery Barn Kids: Eh--Not so impressed
DH and I just finished putting together our crib (not from PBK) and the nursery. We got a lot of items from PBK, and honestly, for the $$, i am not so impressed.
The bedding is really pretty, but the quilt is so small and the bumper is just plain white on the outside. The sheets are really bright and pretty though.
The rug is gorgeous--if you are going to splurge on an item from PBK, get a rug.
The nightlight is so pretty, but doesn't have an on/off switch! you have to unplug/plug to get any light! It also doesn't really illuminate much.
The mobile is probably the least impressive item. It looks really old-fashioned, but not in a "modern with a retro look old fashioned." It looks like a mobile that would have been on a crib in the 60s or 70s. All it does is play "hush little baby for about a minute or two while the moon & stars kind of twirl around. The moon and stars are on old fashioned strings. It actually makes me feel uncomfortable having it in the crib! I think I am going to return it and get a tinylove mobile instead.
Anyway, for the amount of $$ everything cost (some gifts, some dh and I bought) the stuff is fairly unimpressive. I will probably keep the bedding (maybe return the quilt...) because it goes so well with the rug, which I love, but have learned my lesson about PBK. I should have listened to Baby Bargains!

Bummer! The lamp sounds defective! I would return it and get the $$ back. Same thing with the mobile---sounds disappointing. Sorry it's not what oyu thought it would be.

Sorry you were so disappointed!!! That sux.
But thank you for the warning about some of their items. I was contemplating registering there, and now I am glad that I didn't!

I was disappointed too. I went there to register, and I felt the same way - a lot of the items fell short of what they show in the catalogue.

The only thing I bought from them was a bedding set when ds was born and the wrong. The bedding set was nice, the rug was nice too but they smelled weird and were too itchy to sit on. goobster.....that is really gross. i hope your new crib comes soon with no worries!

Re: Pottery Barn Kids: Eh--Not so impressed
All of my bedding and decor items, like baskets and some coordinating items with the bedding we selected are from there... I do have my girl bedding set already in the closet (long story). I haven't taken anything out of the packaging, but I still love the way it looks.
I was also a little disappointed to read the review in Baby Bargains about PBK, so that did dissuade me from getting a crib there which was my original plan. When I went to look at cribs, I was really unimpressed. But I still like their bedding-- and a lot of their other little items.
I think with most home decorating, you need to mix and match from a bunch of different places anyway.

Goobster, that is a horrible story and I am so not surprised after opening all of the items from PBK last night. I keep thinking of how much money I could have saved going with a regular bedding set from BRU or even going with a mpre pricey, but better rated set from Land of Nod. i am so happy I decided against getting my crib from PBK.

Baby Bargains rated Land of Nod bedding an "A." PBK only got a C (or a C-, I can't remember...) That's really all I know about it...I haven't seen it in person, but Baby Bargains is a pretty fair critic, so I would tend to believe them. My favorite bedding was the "diamonds are a girl's best friend..." i don't know if it is still available though.

Re: Pottery Barn Kids: Eh--Not so impressed
I've had a completely different experience - after having an AWFUL time with Bellini and having to return all my furniture with much grief and horrible customer service.
All of DS's bedroom furniture (crib, changing table/dresser and bookshelf_ are from pottery barn, he has the anywhere chair, i have a number of baskets and liners and storage buckets and it is all great quality and their customer service has been AMAZING. Their delivery times were right on and the delivery men were great. I had an issue with my mattress and when i called them almost a year later they sent me a brand new one without any issues whatsoever. I would never hesitate to buy anything from there again. Whereas i will NEVER EVER step foot in Bellini again.
I will say though from looking at all the cribs in the store - all of their products are made my different individuals so some of the cribs etc. are sturdier and better made than others - this is reflected in the prices for these items.
I have found baby bargains to be right on for some things but, i have found they often give bad ratings to more expensive items without much consideration as to their worth. JMO.
ETA: DS's rug is from Land of Nod. It was $$$ and I really haven't been that impressed with it. It still smells funny months later and it looked pilled right away. But, it was the only rug i found that i liked so i deal with it
but i also have storage bins from there and they are great and cheaper than PBK.
