Ireland in April
DH and I were thinking of heading over - does anyone know what the weather is like that time of year?

Re: Ireland in April
We went in August and it was lovely- not too warm and not too cool. I think that Ireland has a moderate climate year round- I am sure it's very nice.

Re: Ireland in April
The temps in Ireland do not vary all that much from season to season. In April you could get nice weather or it might be cool. Similar to here. As they say in Ireland, be prepared for all seasons in one day. The weather can change pretty rapidly there. DH and I lived there for 18 months and just returned home in May. So if you have any questions , please feel free to ask.

Re: Ireland in April
It will be about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and "soft" (meaning drizzling alot which---I kid you not--you will not even notice).
The best part is that it will be sunny until about 10 O'Clock at night.
That's also a better time to go, as the "High Season" for tourists starts in mid-May.

I'm from Ireland and lived there 31 years and I still couldn't tell you exactly what it will be like in April. My sister went last year at Easter and the whole week was dry except for one day. The temps can vary from 40's to 60's but my birthday is in April and I remember some beautiful days for that!
It gets dark between 8 or 9 in April, depending on the kind of weather. The really bright evenings are around mid Summer's day - or June 21 - and that's the one thing I miss the most.
I think April would be a nice time to go as a tourist. I usually try to go in September when the flights are cheaper than the Summer and you can still get some beautiful Indian-Summer days.

We are going in May. And as the others say the weather there is unpredictable. Pack a jacket be prepared for rain. But no matter what it is worth the trip it is the most beautiful country in the world!

i 'third' that!
i was there in July/August, and there were still days that i needed a light jacket or sweatshirt. the weather really can vary drastically... so definitely bring things that you can layer. Its so amazing though- i'd go back anytime of the year, if the opportunity arose.
