Is this normal from DH?

So since we just found out this morning we're pregnant with our first, he's been in "work" driven mode

Meaning he was happy, but then all of a sudden, I gotta fix this in the house, we have to start saving more, etc

and then this afternoon I made a comment like Our baby will be due in July, so no birthdays during the school year, it'll be pool parties...we'll have to move later and have a pool (kinda just joking around)

his response: well we probably will have to stay in this house longer now, i'm just being realistic, so maybe no pool for 10yrs

As excited as my husband is for the baby to arrive... I think he's also in a bit of denial and it won't really hit him until I push the kid out!

yeah my husband is definitely being more careful with spending and trying to work on saving more. We wanted to redo one of our bathrooms, now he thinks we should wait... its normal they are worried about supporting their family. its cute!

Yup, totally normal! Men definitely don't know what to do with their emotions and we thought women were bad!Chat Icon Hey, let him channel it into preparing the house; he'll get a ton of stuff accomplished.

And a great big congrats!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yup. Even though DH won't believe I am pregnant until we see the heartbeat, he is in full on work mode and is acting like we are going to have to pay for the baby's college next month or something.
