prenatal vitamins
So i went to refill my prenatals last night and apparently my insurance company reclassified the drug as "non-preferred" so now my co-pay is $40 instead of $25. I was really annoyed and didn't refill the script because I think $40 is crazy. I talked to my OB today at my appt and she said it's no problem to switch to OTC if I want.
I am a little concerned since I have heard horror stories about prenatals and I haven't had any issues or constipation with the PrimaCare1.
Can anyone recommend a good OTC prenatal where you haven't had side-effects or constipation?
Thanks!

Re: prenatal vitamins
Target...
it's what i use because i have HORRIBLE stomach problems (ulcers, IBS). A close friend of mine got them for me because they worked well for HER (she actually still takes them) and gave her no stomach issues either.
10 months of taking them - at night, with dinner, not a single problem yet!

Re: prenatal vitamins
I had this same problem with my prescription plan! I'm not sure if I reached their "limit" on refills or whatever, but mine went from $20 to $60 per month! I decided to take OTC and I'm currently taking Target brand. I have had no ill-effects whatsoever - in fact, my hair and nails look fabulous! Much better than when i was on the Prima-Care!

OMG, the exact same thing happened to me last night too!! The pharmacist told me to call my insurance today, and when I did they said when I filled it on Saturday, the co-paid showed $40, but if I fill it today it would be back to $25.. .so there's a glitch in the system, which they are looking into. so weird

Re: prenatal vitamins
I use Prima Care one and usually have a $50 copay that gives me a 3 month supply. I know it is alot but I pay it anyway. I like this pre-natal especially since it has Omega 3 in it.
I just saw you only have 6 weeks to go. I guess that is alot for just that short period of time. I have heard good things about target brand pre-natals.
