Ist sonogram appointment today!
Dh and I saw our little "mouse" (don't ask me why, but this is what we call the baby!  ) for the first time today!!!!! We were so excited. I am a lot further along than I thought I was... 6 weeks and 4 days! (This is what happens when you irregularly get AF, you don't know when you ovulated!)
He/she was "looking very good." We could see the baby's head and heard the heartbeat! it was so exciting!
Of course, when I walked out, my SIL called and was like "Did you ask about the heartrate per minute and the CRL?" (which I didn't even know what that was!) I didnt' think to ask her anything! She said everything looked good... the yolk sack, the heart rate was strong, etc. Was I SUPPOSED to ask more questions? I see the doctor for the first time next week.

I think you are okay! Especially that you are seeing the doc next week...you can make a list of questions before then if there is anything on your mind.
What is CRL?

She said it was the "Crown to Rump Length". So basically the length of the baby so far from what I gather.

Oh yes that's what it is! I just never heard it be called CRL before. But the length at that point is what they mostly use to determine how far along you are at the early stage so it was definitely done - they just didn't give you the number.

i didn't ask any heart rate/medical questions at my 1st appt. my way to see it is why stress myself out? i put all my trust in my dr, if they see something wrong i'm sure they'd tell me. congrats on the mouse!! tee hee!

Did they give you a picture? If so, the CRL should be on there somewhere, but as long as they said all was good, I wouldnt even worry about it!!!!

yes, they did... the only measurement on their says 8 cm. so i am assuming that's it!

Thanks... I didn't know either until 10 days ago!!! We're so excited. I didnt' think I would get pregnant with all my issues, so it's great!

Oh, 8 cm is way too big at this stage!!! I had my first sonogram at 6 weeks, 4 days last week and my bean was 6.5 millimeters CRL. You must have been somewhere in that ballpark. It's so exciting isn't it??

I totally understand about the questions - I forgot TONS I was supposed to ask! I finally remembered them this morning. And he asked me if I had any more questions- and they just weren't coming to me!
What's your due date? Are you a July mommy?

I am so happy everything was good and that you saw the heartbeat!!
