i think i belong here now....
so i really wasnt feeling good the last few days.. heart flutter, nausea CRANKY. So i think im about 11dpo. Ive only been off BCP for 2 months.
i decided i couldnt wait any more and POAS about 10 min ago jumpped in the shower and SURPRISE when i got out. i sent dh a text of this pic and said surprise!
im FREAKING OUT!!!! we werent planning to start TTC for a bit longer and were just testing the waters. 
i'm a bit scared im not going to lie. my family kept telling us that were too young we need to wait. i dont know how to break the news. im sure they will be excited.
Whats the next step? do i call the doctor? i think i need to take 10 more tests!
im rambling b.c DH is at work and i need to talk! im sorry!

Wow! Congrats!!!
I'm sure your family will be thrilled and support you!!
You can call your doctor. My Ob won't see a pregnant woman until she is at least 6 weeks but all docs are different. I called as soon as I POAS and got a positive and they made the appointment for when I would be 6 weeks preggo.

When would you ladies suggest telling family? i remember my mom saying you shouldnt tell anyone till your in the clear..when is that?

12 weeks. After your 12 weeks your chances of miscarrying are extremely low.

As the PP stated 12 weeks is considered *safe*. Many women can't hold out that long. For my first pregnancy, we told parents & our siblings at about 10 weeks. We came out to everyone else at 12 weeks. It's really whatever you are comfortable with.

Congratulations! Call your OB and set up an appointment. They will probably have you start taking your prenatals right away.

I got my BFP yesterday and I called today and made an appointment for when I would be 8 weeks.
As far as telling people, right now we are only telling our parents and siblings that we got a BFP on a test.
After last time our rule of thumb is to tell people that we would want to know whether something bad or good happens.

thanks thats what i was thinking also! if something bad were to happen i would want my family to know anyway. im just scared of their reaction!

Congrats!!!! I got my BFP on Thurs. We only told my parents and brother. We will prob wait till the end of the first trimester to tell anyone else. Its killing me to have to hold such exciting news in though
eta After confirming on a digital test the next day, I called my doctor and scheduled an appointment. She wanted to see me at 5 weeks, which I think is early but I wasn't going to argue!!

We'd been trying for a while, so I wasn't scared or unsure, but I was incredibly nervous that something would go wrong or it would be an ectopic.

thanks this was a total surprise for DH and i so i think thats where my insecurities stem from. i guess once i see the doc and sono i will feel much better
