Re: Leaving on a 5 hour flight today.

I flew to CA at 9 weeks. I was more prone to motion sickness and didn't feel well on the flight back, but otherwise I was fine. Make sure to drink plenty of water and walk around the plane every hour or so.

You'll be fine. I was a lot further along then you are and flew to CA. I also had terrible morning sickness. Just make sure to get up and walk around a little and definately drink lots of water. Bring a small bag of pretzels or crackers with you just in case

Re: Leaving on a 5 hour flight today.

I took a 5 hour flight right at the beginning of my second trimester... It was fine, other than being uncomfortable. Don't worry about it!

Re: Leaving on a 5 hour flight today.

I was flying from coast to coast throughout my first and second trimesters. I went from Texas to NY twice, California once, Las Vegas and London.

You will be a-ok! Stay hydrated, rest your feet when you can and enjoy!

Re: Leaving on a 5 hour flight today.

I believe it is totally safe for the baby.

I was told it is recommended that we not fly in the first trimester just in case of miscarriage risk. Flying doesn't increase the risk but in case it happens, you would want to be close to home.

I flew at 6 weeks and at 10 weeks. I had to battle air sickness with morning sickness. It was brutal. Hopefully you won't feel as nearly as bad as me.

Well I'm at the airport now just waiting on my plane to get here. I haven't really had any m/s and I'm good on planes usually when it comes to motion sickness so hopefully :::fingers crossed::: this flight will be a piece of cake for me.

Mmmmmmm cake.

Ok ladies, I'm off! Thanks for all the advice as always! Chat Icon

Have a great trip! By the time you get back I will be a mommy Chat Icon (sorry whenever someone mentions timeframes I instantly think if I'll be a mommy or not at the end of the timeframe!)
