Thank God I called HR!
So I call HR to coordinate my maternity leave and she says you know the company is changing its benfeits as of the 1/1/09. I said no, I didn't know that. They will no longer be paying 100% of your STD. (which is 6-8 weeks). They are going to pay 60% if employed under 5 yrs and 80% over 5. If yuohave the baby before the 1st of the year yu will be grandfathered in. She's like when are you due....I am due DECEMBER 31st!!!!!!!! I know I am very fortunate in that some companies pay nothing but this is my 3rd with this company and I was so shocked. I can't afford nor was I prepared for anything less than 100%. Needless to say, so much for having the first baby of the New Year! This baby better come meet his mommy a little early!

Wow, it's a good thing your company pays 100% and that you actually called to find out about this...

 isnt news like this enough to send you into labor now?!?!?! thats terrible!! maybe you can speak with the head of hr and work something out...youve already had 2 children with them...they know you are a good employee with every intention of coming back to work...and youre cutting it SOOOOOOOOOOO close!!! how frusterating!! well if that doesnt work...start drinking castor oil mid december!!  good luck to you!!!
