you will DEFINITELY need all that 0-3!!! that's what DC will be in for probably about a month-month and a half if it's an average sized baby. you'll need NB for up to the first month if the baby is born less that around 8 pounds. so get just a few NB outfits.

carters has TONS of NB stuff. you can get it at carters, kohls, macys, BRU, etc. NB stuff is easy to find if you go to the right stores. we found our CHO at carters in westbury.

I was told layette is what you're going to need for the first month or so, so NB and 0-3

hmmm i bought 0-3 for my take home outfit, and now im wondering if i should get a NB too to bring with me..i hate the dennys exchange and return policy, so maybe ill go with my mother, pick something out..and then tell her to get her heiney over there before the baby comes home to get a NB outfit if shes smaller then 8.5lbs...my DS was 10.1..and came home SNUGGLY in a 0-3..he couldve worn a 3-6

When I was pregnant most of the people I talked to said that the newborn size would be too small if you had a good size baby. My son was 8lbs and he went right to the 0-3 month clothing. I wouldn't buy too much in newborn and if you do leave the tags on and only wash a few items of clothing.

Absolutely agree!!! My DD was 9lbs, 9 oz and did not fit in any newborn clothing that people purchased me. I even had a cute halloween outfit in NB size to bring DD home in and she woulnd up going home in the 0-3 month size.

Keep all the tags on NB size and bring both sizes to the hospital.

DS was 7Lbs13oz and 21 inches and wore NB for about 3 weeks. 0-3 is bigger than NB but it wore it at the same time as NB but it was a bit big on him in the beginning.

Don't buy too many NB. Some bigger baby never wore NB.

DD#1 was born 8 pounds but dropped to 6 something and didn't regain the weight right away. i can't remember how long she was in newborn Chat Icon... she was also a spring/summer baby so she pretty much lived in short sleeve onesies with and without pants for the first few months.

DD#2 is predicted to be a little bigger. so far i have 2 NB fleece onesies, a couple cotton NB onesies, a pack of long sleeve NB bodysuits, and everything else is 0-3 (between what i bought and gifts we have waaaaaay too much). since she will be born in the cooler months i plan to layer. if it turns out she's smaller than predicted, then i'll send my sister out to get maybe another 2 or 3 warmer onesies, but that's about it i think...

We did and are doing 0-3m. It will probably be big but there aren't as many "special" outfits in newborn size.
