Drunk driving penalties in other countries
I took my defensive driving class today 
and guess what I learned?
Penalties for DWI:
In Japan- you lose license forever
In Bulgaria- a second conviction results in execution
In El Salvador - no second chance, execution by firing squad.
England - $250 fine and one year suspension and one year in jail
In France - $1000 fine, one year in jail, license revoked for 3 years
Malaysia- jail. If the driver is married, his wife is also jailed.
I dont have a website confirming these as facts, but I copied all this directly out of my Empire Safety Council booklet.

Wow! Looks like we need to toughen things up around here! I wonder what the statistics are like? I would hope that the incidents of drunk driving in these countries are a lot lower!

We definitely need stricter DWI laws. I think that if you drive while intoxicated you should absolutely lose your license forever! We also need mandatory jail time for offenders...I like the year in jail idea.
