Quick question.....

I'm going for what will be my third sonogram on Monday. I will be about 9.5 weeks at that point. I'm wondering, will this be another internal u/s, or an external? The last two sonos were internal. At what point do they switch over to externals??
I don't really care what they do either way, I'm not very shy when it comes to that. Just wondering what to expect because I forgot to ask when we set it up. TIA!

Re: Quick question.....

My first sonogram was at 9 weeks and it was an external. I think it may depend on your dr. Good luck!

Re: Quick question.....

All my early sonos @ the doctor's were internal. She stopped doing them when I went for my ultrascreen, which was at the hospital. At that point, all the sonos are on the stomach.

ITA. It depends also on their sono machine.

Re: Quick question.....

On a related note, because I know this question always comes up..........doctors tend to stop doing sonos after the early ones because most insurance doesn't cover them.

Most insurance companies in fact only cover the "main" sonos that are done at the hospital (ie. ultrascreeen, anatomy screen, growth sono).

My doctor told me unless you are "high risk" or something comes up to cause concern, don't expect very many sonos.

Good luck!!!!
