I am getting so paranoid that something will be wrong with this baby.

I forget to take my vitamins a lot and I am so paranoid now that something is going to be wrong with this baby.

With Andrew, I was so careful with everything but this time around things are so different.

I can't stop thinking about I have done something awful to this baby and I will never forgive myselfChat Icon

don't worry, in all honesty, if you're eating a well balanced diet, you'll be a-ok. JMO

I worry about that too. I can relate. I am sure though that there isn't much we can do that could harm our babies, other than the obvious bad things (drinking, drugs, etc). Chat Icon But yes, it is a fear of mine. I think it's just a lot of responsibility knowing that we are carrying another life inside of us that only WE are responsible for until he/she is born.Chat Icon

My doctor said the most important time for the folic acid is during the first trimester, when the organs are being formed. I haven't missed a day, but I always think about the people who don't know they are PG, and have perfectly fine babies without doing any of these things.

Even if you aren't, you still be ok.

I didn't take vitamins and I only gained 3lbs with DS and he is in perfect health!

Try not to stress too much. The vitamins are most important in teh first trimester for the folic acid. I took my prenatals until 14 weeks and have stopped because of messy GI issues. My midwife said as long as i'm eating a semi balanced diet you will be fine. The baby will take from your body what he/she needs.

Re: I am getting so paranoid that something will be wrong with this baby.

I have spent SO much time worrying during this pregnancy. I've been really good about taking my vitamins and such, but there have been lots of things that I DIDN'T count on during this pregnancy. I wasn't planning to have to be on prescription painkillers for 2/3 of the pregnancy, and I also wasn't prepared for my lack of desire to eat ANYTHING healthy. Or my addiction to sweet tea. I spent so much time worrying and not enough time trying to just enjoy it. I got to the point where (and I don't usually do this), I just put it in God's hands. I'm hoping he'll protect this baby with everything I have put her through already. Chat Icon

I'm sure everything will be just fine...the baby takes what he/she needs from you no matter what. Chat Icon

Don't worry Chat Icon

My doctor actually told me to only take my prenatals every other day because they were making me constipated Chat Icon

I'm doing much better now, and the baby is looking fine so far.

I definitely worry too about if I'm eating well enough, etc. I think it's normal to stress about it. But...I'm sure everything's fine! My SIL is on her 2nd PG and hasn't taken pre-natals with eitehr PG because she had such severe morning sickness (up until 37 weeks with her first PG!) that they made her too ill. And her DD is just fine - as I'm sure her 2nd child will be too.

Re: I am getting so paranoid that something will be wrong with this baby.

I think it's completely natural to worry about the health and safety of your baby, it's part of being a mother. I am 100% guilty of over-worrying during my pregnancy. In the first trimester I was worrying about everything forming correctly, and now in the third trimester I am worrying about all different things (I won't name any just in case you haven't thought of them!). As long as you're taking care of yourself, getting sleep and eating enough, I am sure everything will be ok. Feel good and enjoy the miracle growing inside of you! Chat Icon

The more I talk about this the more common I think it is.. I want to even say its normal to be like this rather than not.. But just remember.. They are your feelings and not FACTS.. Thank God feelings pass.. Hang in there sweetie.. Chat Icon

Totally normal to feel that way, I did too with baby #2, missed taking a lot of vitamins. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy!

Don't worry we all felt that way!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

BTDT! I think w/ DC #2 you are more aware of things that can happen so you worry more. The reality is what ever is meant to be will happen and there is really nothing you can do.

The stress of worrying is not helping though, so try to relax and think positive thoughts!

With DS I only filled my prescription 4 times in my whole pg and that was one a month supply at a time. He turned out fine. DD I took them more and really didn't notice a difference. They both are healthy.
