Did you have to show your ID when you voted?
I didn't, and it bothered me. I laid it on the table for the woman to look at it and without giving it a glance she says, "i don't need that.. just sign here." She didn't pay any attention to me even while i signed my name to compare it to the original sig.. just pointed me towards the booth.
Shouldn't they be checking id's to make sure I am who I say I am? I can't return a top to Express without giving my id to the cashier, but I can vote for the president?

In Cali we always had to show our ID. Now you don't. They say IF they feel there is voter fraud they will deal with it later

I'm in CT, which requires voters to show IDs. I don't think that's a requirement in NY though.

OMG, now that you mention it, NO ONE asked to see mine (I made sure to check my wallet to make sure it was in there, too).
Kinda scary? I coulda just said any name, as long as I knew where they were registered?

Im on Long Island... no Id required. I had it out and she said she didn't need it.
I thought it was strange too!

Someone posted yesterday that its supposedly illegal in NYS to ask for ID. I'm not sure why that would be.
I did not have to show mine in long island

nope (in NY) - which turned out to be a good thing for me, since I never changed my name under my voter registration, but did under my license. I think it is super shady that they don't check.

You would have to know the name, address and signature....and if the real person came and saw another signature, there would be an issue.
In NY, you don't need ID - but you start with an address, go to your district, give your name which they find on a sheet and sign.....little room for error.

I called the board of election and they told me the same thing...I was concerned because I had not changed my name to married name....
I did see that they have my signature on file
