Brooke Smith Leaves Grey's Anatomy -Spoiler!
Brooke Smith ends her run as Dr. Erica Hahn this Thursday on the ABC hit Grey's Anatomy. She joined the cast last season as the outspoken and brash Dr. Hahn, quickly becoming a fan favorite. On Thursday's episode Dr. Hahn made a weepy declaration that she was a lesbian after her bond with Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) quickly moved into relationship territory.
EW.com's Michael Ausiello reported Monday that the relationship's fast clip may have factored in the decision to dump Smith. But show creator Shonda Rhimes denied the allegation in a statement to Usmagazine.com.
"Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian. Clearly it's not an issue as we have a lesbian character on the show -- Calliope Torres," she said. "Sara Ramirez is an incredible comedic and dramatic actress and we wanted to be able to play up her magic. Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke's character would sustain in the long run. The impact of the Callie/Erica relationship will be felt and played out in a story for Callie. I believe it belittles the relationship to simply replace Erica with "another lesbian." If you'll remember, Cristina mourned the loss of Burke for a full season."

I agree
and as much as I am for having a gay charatcter on the show,,,,I just didnt like the way this story was going. Callie seemed a little put off with the relationship....almost like she didnt think her partner was going to move so fast.

In the previews...she seems pretty PO'ed about the whole Izzy/heart/Denny thing that she wasnt even there for!
Maybe she demands Izzy be fired or she goes and the Chief keeps Izzy???

She was there! The heart Izzy got for Denny was supposed to be for one of Erica's patients. Izzy cut that wire that pushed Denny to the top of the donor list.

I could not stand them together anyway....it skeeved me to no end..not the whole lesbian thing...just them together it was like an old man and a young chick...plus Hahn has this one tooth on her bottom row that is just so out of place and i can never stop staring at it!
