Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

Which did you register for (if any)? I see that the Diaper Champ uses any type of plastic bag and requires no cartridges (like the diaper genie does).

I used diaper champ with dd, you use reg. garbage bags. I only used for the first month, then when diapers got stinkier i just tossed into shopping bags and put into reg. garbage right away.

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

I have the Diaper Champ and I love it.

I didn't register for one initially and we ended up going and getting one when she was about 2 weeks old.

I've heard a lot of good things about diaper dekor plus. I registered for it but didn't get it. We're still in the apt, so I don't think we need it. (can just run down the hall and throw down the trash chute for now) but when we move to a house, I will probably get it then.

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

Diaper champ by far. Not only can you use regular garbage bags, but it is way easier to get the diaper into the pail and it is way easier to clean IMO.

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

I didn't use a special pail with my first DD and it was fine. If there was something especially stinky, I just put it in a grocery bag, tied a knot and then put it in the regular garbage.

I have the Diaper Genie Elite II and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!! Emerson has some stinky little diapers and it takes a few days before you need to change the bag and I don't smell a single thing!!!! You wouldn't even know there is a diaper pail in her room. I think it works great and I don't have a problem with it needing special refills. It's about $5-6 for a refill cartridge and they last a while and hold a ton of diapers. Emerson is 6 weeks old today and I just put in a 3rd refill. Not bad if you ask me. Chat Icon

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

I registered for the Diaper Dekor Plus-- per baby bargains and a friend's recco.

I live in an apt-- and we need to control smells! Even though, I can just walk down the hall and rid the apt of any foul smelling garbage.

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

I have the Champ. If it is a super stinky diaper, I put it into a small bag before putting it into the Champ. It prevents it from smelling up the room.

Never bothered with a special pail... I have those blue bags that smell like baby powder for when we are out and about.... they work like a charm! For the house, I use the supermarket bags, and just toss 'em right out!

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

I don't use either I just put the diapers in a plastic bag and dump them immediately in the garbage...no need to keep dirty diapers in the house

Re: Diaper Champ VS. Diaper Genie

neither!

I bought biodegradable diaper bags (put one stinky diaper inside and tie in a knot and toss in the kitchen trash (which leaves our house daily). no smells ever Chat Icon

our changing table is in our bedroom, so it was important to me that there be no smell in our room Chat Icon

I have the diaper champ and love it. It doesn't smell and uses a regular garbage bag. I usually spray a little lysol in it everytime I change the bag just to be sure.
