Does anyone go to a private practice OB?
Considering my frustration trying to get appts with a busy practice...I talked to a friend and she recommended her OB. It's a private practice and she recommends him very very highly. It was so much easier getting an appt with this office than the other with SIX doctors! 
The downside to a private practice, from what I hear, is that he can cancel an appt at any time, and it happens often.
Anyone have experience with a private practice OB?

I go to a practice with one doctor, so far I have seen him EVERY TIME, never have I been cancelled on..I adore him, they did say that I may see the nurse once, but he will not let you go two appts in a row without seeing him. He's very old school in his thoughts, isn't sono happy and is very traditional, but I loooove him, and will take time with you to answer any questions you have!!!!
I go to Dr. Trongone in Manhasset....

My OB is in a practice with another doctor who is only a GYN and does not deliver babies, so essentially she is a solo practitioner as far as OB is concerned. This is my second pregnancy with her and so far I have not been canceled on even once.

My dr is solo and I love him. With this pregnancy he has not canceled at all. With my first he cancelled once.

i prefer the solo doctor- less wait time, more of a feeling like the office knows you...
ive only had 1 cancellation- and i was rescheduled for the next day.

I go to a single practitioner and I LOVE HIM!! He has never cancelled an appt on me and I suspect that he wouldn't unless he had to deliver a baby. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an OB. If you want an awesome OB located in Islip, shoot me an FM!
