ob/gyn

Is it better to go with a larger office or a one man show?

Im in VA and don't have anyone to refer to, I made an appt. at one place and the receptionist said there are 5 dr.'s and i should meet them all at diff. times I go bc I dont know who will be on call when I have my baby.

I looked up another Dr. who is a one man show and he has great reviews, but if you go into labor on the weekend he is not the dr who will deliver, another dr from a diff office is.

which would you choose?

Re: ob/gyn

I chose a Dr. who practices by herself. I do not feel comfortable with several people looking after me. That's just my personal preference.

I think it is a matter of preference, the practice I go to has 3 Dr's, I like them all and feel my care has been great so far Chat Icon

I think it is a matter of preference. My dr is just herself. she has midwives that we see as well but they cant deliver us.

Re: ob/gyn

I'd go with the larger office. At least you can meet all of them. If you go with the solo doctor and end up going into labor when he is not on you'll have a total stranger deliver your baby.

Re: ob/gyn

Im in a larger office and am not happy.

Im torn between switching since I have been a patient there awhile, and they delivered RJ.

If I could start all over again, I wouldve went with a one man show.

Re: ob/gyn

I go to a single practice, i just feel better seeing the same dr all the time, and I don't chance not liking one of them, but its completely personal decision I think....
