Pasturized?!

How come it's soooo hard to find that word on certain foods. I'm looking at my yogurt now (Dannon, light and fit) and on the ingrediants it doesn't say "pasturized milk"
Also, when DH and I were at the deli the other day I was looking at the cheese in the display counter and I couldn't find the word "pasturized" on the munster or any other cheese. Only the American cheese said it. How do I know some of this stuff is safe?

Re: Pasturized?!

alot of things don't actually say it.
For ex, the yogurt I eat, Activia, doesn't say it. So I went to the website.

It said it was made with GRADE A milk, and that Grade A milk is always pasteurized so that's why they don't say pasteurized.

Most things are pasteurized, even if it doesn't specifically say it.

Re: Pasturized?!

Hard cheeses are fine. The only cheese that may not be pasteurized is soft cheese. The label on soft cheese should say whether or not it's pasteurized.
