The No-No Cheeses

Can we have feta, blue, goat etc if you buy them from the super market and the ingredients say "pasteurized milk"? I think yes, but just checking

Yes. As long as it's pasteurized it's fine.

For the most part, fresh mozzarella is pasteurized. Some people may avoid it b/c they're concerned that it's stored in water, but it depends on what you feel comfortable with. I've had pasteurized fresh mozzarella quite a few times.

Even if pasteurized, some people avoid blue cheese and brie b/c of the mold.

Other soft cheese like feta is fine if it's pasteruized.

As long as the ingredient list says "pasteurized milk" it is considered OK by CDC. Do not confuse this with pasteurized cheese, as ALL cheese made in USA is pasteurized, but it is not all made with pasteurized milk. There are some cheeses, like parmesean that are made with cultured milk. It is NOT the same thing.

That said, there are plenty of girls on here that will tell you to do what you are comfortable with and that everything is OK in moderation.

You have to go with what you are comfortable with - whether it is following CDC guidelines, your OB's guidelines, the girls here, or whatever.
