I gave birth yesturday to my DD Delaney Belle she weighs 5lbs 4 oz.I was 36 weeks..She is in the NICU and they said she wont be released till next week..Her lungs arent matured, she has an infection and fluids in her lungs..she is on a CPAP,IV and antibiotics.. I havent gotten to hold her yet.. I will post pictures tomorrow or Tuesday when I get home and update as soon as I know more..Please pray that she gets better quick it is killing me to see her this way..TIA
Congratulations on the birth of your sweetheart!! I also delivered my DD at 36 weeks on 10/6 and like Delaney, she was in the NICU [for 8 days] for difficulty breathing, fluid in her lungs and an infection- on CPAP, IV feeding and antibiotics. I didn't get a chance to hold her when she was first born and was able to hold her for about a minute a few hours later once she was in the NICU. Tell the nurses that you need to hold her- even if it's for a few minutes. You will cry your eyes out [as I am sure you are doing anyway] but will also feel so much better. Remember that she is getting the best possible care in the NICU. I know it is so hard to leave her in there... I was in your shoes 2 short weeks ago!!
