Re: when did you tell your parents?

It's really a personal decision, no right or wrong answer.

I got pregnant twice through fertility treatments, the first time we told our family right away, but miscarried and it was extreamly difficult to have to tell them.

The second time, we told them after we saw the heartbeat.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

1st DD, we told everyone at 3 months, parents included.

This pregnancy, we told them at 8 weeks because we needed a babysitter early one morning to go to the doctor and had to tell them.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

I really wanted to wait to be sure but couldn't keep it in - especially with my mom. We told my mom the same day I poas. My siblings we told after the blood test confirmed it.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

I told my Mom right away, almost the moment I found out. I'm very close to her though so I needed her support no matter what happened.
I'm not going to tell my father (they're divorced) until further along. We're not as close so it's not as pressing for me to tell him. I haven't really made a decision when though.

Were telling SO parents this Sunday. That should be exciting! lol Chat Icon

I was 12 1/2 weeks. We waited until after the sono to tell anyone. We just wanted to make sure everything was ok.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

first pregnancy i told my mom asap i was shaking to death and couldnt believe. I then unfortunately MC at 8 weeks. It was great having the support system. This week time we told parents after blood work confirmed and their was a sac. Again we needed the support system. Its a personal decision and you have to follow your heart.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

We told our parents about two weeks after we found out... we waited for Father's day and shared the news at that point. I had not been to the doctor yet- but I knew I would need that support system no matter what... It's a very personal decision.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

As soon as that second line popped up I was on the phone with my mother! DH was at work & he didn't answer the phone & I had to share the news. It turned out that my parents were in the car together so my mom just screamed (from joy of course!) & told my father "OMG! She's pregnant!"

waiting til Thanksgiving too....and we'll be about 10 weeks by then, probably. I'd almost rather wait til we see/hear a heartbeat (not sure when that will be- haven't seen my doc yet) but Thanksgiving is just the perfect time with the family together.Chat Icon I feel bad waiting so long to tell my Mom...but I didn't want to do it without DH there and I won't do it on the phone.

Re: when did you tell your parents?

I wanted to wait till 3 mos but it was impossible!!! We ended up telling our families at 1 month for my Dad's birthday. I'm glad I did b/c now I think they might have been upset if I kept it any longer! Plus, every time I saw and spoke to my parents I wasn't feeling well so I figured they'd wonder what was going on. I'll wait till 12 weeks to tell work etc.
