DH left tonight
I know this isnt pregnancy related, but I need someone to talk to and I physically can't put words together right now......
DH left for Iraq at 4:45pm this afternoon and I can't stop crying. Our beautiful  is just 13 days old and it ripped my heart out to have to take her out of his arms, kiss him goodbye and watch him get on the bus.
I'm in Kansas, my entire family is in NY and i'm not going back for a visit for 2 weeks. How am I supposed to do this without him? Thank god I have a great family to help get me through the holidays... but how do I get through the normal days? Its been 3 hours and what I miss the most is looking over and seeing his boots in the middle of the living room floor. Please tell me this is going to get easier, my heart hurts so much right now.
*** Finally got a message from him on myspace that he is where he was going and he's doing ok. Its amazing how something so small as a comment on myspace could make me feel so much better. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Its gonna be a tough/long year***

OH I am so sorry........................
WHile my DH has been traveling a lot lately for work, he has been in Europe for a week, I can't imagine how heartbroken you must be.
I think its normal for you to be upset and cry and its good. Just remember your little needs you now more than ever. It is great that your DH was able to be here for her birth and meet her.
Iis there anyway someone from your family can come and spend some time with you or can you come to NY and stay with family so you aren't alone.
It must be so hard with everythign you are going through not to mention all the hormonal changes that normally makes women weepy port-partum.
You can always come on ehre to chat as well!

I am so sorry and I have been there (minus the new baby part).
If you need to talk please FM me.
It is such horrible pain and I cant imagine having to deal with it with a new baby, especially not being near family!

i have been through something similar, but not exactly this....(and without a new baby)
i PROMISE you, it does get easier. Every day will hurt just a TINY bit less...but you won't notice until you are all cried out...

Jo, again, I am so sorry. I wish, more than ANYTHING, that I could be there with you. But you know what? Gianna IS right there with you, and is a part of you and John. Look at her, and know that because John loves you, that she is there. We all love you, and are here for you anytime. I wish I was in Kansas right now! ...I think that is the first time anyone has ever said that!!..ok so I'm trying to make you smile, just a little..  Love you.

U did make me smile....
He just texted me that he was just about to get on the plane. It helped just to see his name and hear his ringtone  I can't wait to come back east and see everyone.
And you're right, looking at her puts everything into perspective.... I thank god everyday that she looks like him more than me..... especially when she sleeps and smiles. I miss his smile most....

I don't completely know how you feel because DH and I didn't have a child yet when he was sent to Iraq but I understand the physical pain of having to hug and kiss him goodbye and the fear you are feeling. It gets easier but its always there. Please use this time to cherish every little moment with your daughter and document it for DH. Talk to your DD about her daddy and that way you can always feel like he is around and "just at work."

Jo, I am so so so terribly sorry that you are going through this. I am not gonna sit here and say that I understand and that it will get better b/c I have never been in your position so I don't know. But, I do know what it's like to have a new born and to try to learn about your baby while she gets to learn about you. That, in itself, is a huge challenge. While you and Gianna ge to know one another and you get to teach her about her daddy until he can be around, please know that you have a tremendous amount of support and love here in NY. And, even though you are in Kansas now, please know that we are all here for you ANYTIME you need anything.
We can't wait for you to come to NY so your friends and family can surround you with support, love, encouragement, and strength. Don't be a stranger and don't think for one second that you have to do it alone. You don't!

I am sure it will get easier... You will get into some kind of routine and while it will still be hard, you'll be able to handle everything-- even though it doesn't seem like it now.
Perhaps there are some local support groups that can help you when things start to feel like they are getting a bit rough?

Thanks girls.... last night was tough. Just waiting for a phone call from him to find out where he is. I HATE not knowing if he is even still in the country or not.
