Help me explain this to DH
It's so irritating. 
He doesn't get that I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant. In his mind, we didn't have sex 5 weeks ago, so I was only pregnant about 2 1/2 weeks ago when we BD'd.
I keep telling him every damn doctor in the world would say I'm 5 weeks pregnant- and he keeps saying when he sees the doc he's gonna say there's no way I'm that far along!
What a dope. How do I convince him?

well, technically the first two or so weeks of your pregnancy is just the time from your last period to when you ovulated... so, while you are 5 weeks pregnant, you only conceived 3 or so weeks ago.
It's really silly how they figure it out since there are two weeks there where you are no more pregnant than other cycles.

I tried to explain this also to DH.
What he got out of the discussion, and insists are sharing with everybody is that all women are 2 weeks pregnant.

Yeah it is confusing how they figure it out but from what I've read its become the standard to count from your last period bc most women know when that was but it is much harder to pinpoint ovulation. You will still find some docs who go by ovulation but I think they are few and far between! Show him some books- I think in the Pregnancy week by week book it is separated by chapters that say, for example, 30weeks but 28 weeks gestational age. Maybe if he sees it like that it might click?

Yeah, my DH is stickin' to this theory as well.
Thanks girls.
All the pregnancy calculators tell me one thing based on my last AF, but I know that I O'd late, so I'm guessing I'm not as far along as they say - probably off by a few days.

For the way they measure your pregnancy (from the 1st day of your last period) you ARE 5 weeks, HOWEVER, the baby is only 2 or 3 weeks .......
Get the book "your pregnancy week by week" - it explains it pretty well.
Personally I think it's stupid and they should just go by the baby ..........
