We Booked!! staying at the DIVI AI.. in Aruba!!
first... i would LOVE to thank you all for helping me with this vacation... afterall it is last minute and i went for the passport!!
 
so now i am researching on where to stay in ARUBA!
any advice and opinions would be great!!!! TIA!

We went for our HM and stayed at the Hyatt and loved it. We loved everything about Aruba.

When we were booking, we were told the Hyatt and the Radisson were the two nicest hotels in Aruba.
We went last year and used points and stayed at the Hyatt and the Westin. The Hyatt was wonderful!!! The Westin was nice but, I preferred the Hyatt's pool area.
We went for dinner one night at the Radisson and the pool area there looked wonderful as well. We've had friends who have stayed there and loved it.
We're going back again in December through our timeshare and are staying at the Marriott. That's also gotten good reviews from friends (we're staying at the Ocean Club but, I've heard good reviews on the hotel and the Surf Club as well).

Hey D! We have a Time Share in Aruba at the Marriot Surf Club. You can look to see if anyone is renting their time share for a week or there's a ton of hotels. The Radisson is beautiful and one of my Favorite restaurants... Sunset Grille! When you do book FM me b/c I've been there a couple of times.
We're going back in Feb. Can't wait!

Just got back from my honeymoon there.. We stayed at the most beautiful hotel on the strip.
Riu Palace!!! Gorgeous and the food at the restaurants are amazing...even the buffets are ridiculously good!!!!
HAVE FUN!!!
ETA IT'S ALL INCLUSIVE!!!!

deanna we went there for the 1st week of our Hm. we stayed at the renaissance Hotel there are 2 parts the marina and the suites. we stayed in the suites (which I highly recommend over the marina) the marina has a casino and spa and a huge mall and 1 or 2 pools I can't remember. and the suites has 2 pools and 2 restaurants. its also 5 mins from the airport so if you do a transfer as part of a package your the 1st stop and last to be picked up. you can also use a cab and I think it was $10. we did the transfer on the way there, and a cab on the way out.
we loved it there. its not in the high rise section but you can walk to lots of shopping and stores and its the ONLY hotel with a private beach. all the other beaches in Aruba are public even though they say they have their own beach.
You take a 5 min boat ride right at the hotel to a private island, which was AMAZING!
you can do an all inclusive package, but we priced it all out and talked to a bunch of friends who went and said there are some really great restaurants that we wanted to try outside of the hotel so IMO you don't need all inclusive. Food was not expensive at all.

RIU is the only all-inclusive I know of in Aruba.
DH and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon, and stayed at the Hyatt. We LOVED it!

OK I did a search of hotel ratings (on trip advisor) for Aruba...
CLICK HERE!
Check that out - looks like the Hyatt is the way to go by the reviews.
Unless you want All-Inclusive. But that gives you so much info, real traveler pics and reviews - very helpful and you can choose what you want based on your likes/dislikes for a hotel.

My Husband stayed at Rui Palace, it was open last summer, OMG it was beautiful.... & the weather was amazing too.... Enjoy!!

OMG, you are going to love it!!!!
We went last year and stayed at the all inclusive Tamarijn. It's one of the low rises and it has a sister hotel, the Divi. We chose the Tam b/c all of the rooms are ocean front. If you get a first floor room, you walk out of our room right onto the sand!!!
It's not a fancy hotel but we weren't there for the hotel. The beach between the 2 hotels is beautiful and so quiet. The food was good for an AI and the drinks were good. We ate out one night and it was nice but expensive. I went purely for the beach and relaxation. I didn't want to worry about where I was going to eat so this was perfect for us.

I stayed at the Occidental and it was okay. THe RIU is gorgeous and so is the Hyatt. If I was ever to go back it would be to one of those hotels.

thank you so much ladies for all your recomondations...
we are definitely getting the All Inclusive..
so we were looking into the
Divi & Tamjarin.... its a more affordable resort for us... but still looking into others as well..
we do have a Timeshare..the marriott Surf and the other one..but we dont get a week until next year.. so we are holding off on that....
i am going to look at a few that some of you had mentioned!!

wow..that would have been nice!
but our timeshare is through Mariott.. our home location is Orlando..
but the 2 in aruba are a part of it!!

We are in Aruba right now...leaving tomorrow... and we rented this beautiful house.

wow.. you are there now!! how awesome!!
we are going to do AI because its our first time there and we want to just stay at the resort..so it makes sense for us... its more of a cheaper vacation for us.. nothing crazy!! and many people have told me that the restaurants are expensive down there.. we are all about he alcohol!!

I agree. Usually AI are for islands that's safest at the resort. Aruba is a very safe island with sooo much to do outside of your hotel. Tons of great restaurants (up there with 5 star NYC restaurants), shopping, siteseeing, etc.
